Χρόνια Πολλά, Στέλλα!

We went to a Turkish restaurant, called Hala in North London yesterday for a Greek mama's birthday

Highly recommended as the food was gorgeous and the buzz was incredible!

But most of all
Happy birthday, Stella!

Bubbleology

I thought I would never find authentic Taiwanese bubble tea in London.
But there you go, There is Bubbleology!

I think the guy on the right is the owner..

Assad Khan. Photo from Google search

As the owner, Assad Khan was so in love with bubble tea while he was working in New York (why NY?),
He travelled to Taiwan where bubble tea is originally from to learn how to make it authentically

The whole story is on their website, Bubbleology

I like the fact that they dressed like scientists working in a lab..
and the shop is full of Taiwanese people.

And they are selling those flavours that I thought I could only taste/see in Taiwan in the shop
YAY!!!

The milk tea itself was good and aromatic.
There were no many bubbles/ pearls (we call it "pearl" in Taiwan) in cup
But overall it was tasty and fairly authentic.
It made me a bit nostalgic actually.. :'(

I will definitely go back to get another one.
Might even become a regular!

Chocolate Muffin Cake

I made it today..

I don't have any muffin tray to make proper muffins
So I poured the mixture in a cake mould.

And Voila!!

Oh.. I love self-raising flour!

Ping Pong

J and I went to Ping Pong last night for dinner.
Realised they they've had some set menus for 2 people or 1 person
We both went for "Taste Ping Pong for 1" ( obviously, set menu for 1..)
Cheaper and enough for us, why not?

We ordered another Char Siu Bun to go with it

Just loved it!!

I have done this several times, always go with eggs as it's Taiwanese flavour!

Tasty as always!!

Love in a crumpled city

We went to a Spanish restaurant called FINO last night for our Valentine's dinner..

OMG!!
Gorgeous food and a cute waiter
Both VERY yummy!

Ha, ok, be serious,
The food was amazing, I mean A-M-Aaazing!!
This restaurant was selected to appear on the Channel 4 TV Show, Ramsey's Best Restaurant,
as the best Spanish restaurant in the UK in 2010
After having a "fino" dining in FINO, I just so know why they were nominated!

I also received a present from J
It's a crumpled city map of London

It's a very creative and innovative product
as the map is printed on a 100% waterproof fabric
I can just shove into my bag without worrying wether it's getting crumpled or not
Because it's meant to be!!

I love this Valentine's present
And I really enjoyed the night out as well
I even bumped into an old friend of mine in the tube station
Whoof...
I could not ask for anything better, seriously..

wahaca

Went to a Mexican restaurant called "wahaca" last night after work with my two lovely girl friends

Good + healthy food
Funky interior
Nice buzz...
What could you ask more for a restaurant?

Their "business card" is fun
I thought they were matches
But there are chilly seeds

We can grow our own Serrano chillies
How fun!

Chinese Pasty

Sorry guys,
I was working yesterday AND am working today, too!
Sad face..

I made Chinese pasties 2 days ago
They had beef filling and were well tasty!
(Sorry, I know it's food again :-P What a loser..)

It seems to be a good day today
and I will try to take some cool photos on my way to work..

Hope you have a happy Christmas!

Chinese Pickled Eggs

Chinese pickled egg

I tasted the pickled eggs I made yesterday.
THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY SPOT ON!!!

They were soaked/ pickled in salty water for 50 day..
Were also with shell and uncooked while in process
All I need to do after taking them out from the jar is to steam them..

Yum yum

Gosh, I miss you!

My First Blogger Post

Hey, at last.
I have finally created a "Blogger" account.
To a trendy person, me, it is always irresistible to own a popular blog account.

My name is A Ru.
Taiwanese who lives in London.. oh well, near London..
This blog is mainly to share my life with y'all by taking a photograph a day.

 Today's photograph.. There you go..

Sorry, nothing interesting, this is my first post after all ;-p

I stayed at home today making "Steamed buns".. yum yum
The chemical reaction of doughs becoming bun always makes me giggle.
Especially after them being steamed.
(It's more understandable for me if they are baked.. Don't know why)

Bizarre huh?

Anyway, it's about bed time.(1:35am)
And hopefully I can take some really nice photos tomorrow.
¡Hasta Mañana!
