2011 =100

This year, 2011, is our "Republic" Year 100

Of course it's some milestone for us

It has been 100 year since Dr. Sun Yat Sen established Republic of China, R.O.C.

But I really hate this term, "Republic of China"

What the heck?

I understand people called our country R.O.C. when the political situation or some directions of where we were going were still blurry

But now we are THERE, we know where we are going 

We are separate from the people in China

I wouldn't say that we are independent 

but R.O.C. is not a long-term phrase to describe Taiwan, 

a economically independent country

Especially it's been 100 years

You need to DO SOMETHING, government!!

Also, this year

We have created our "Year 100 mascot" 

I find it pointless but rather cute

Its hair(?) symbolises sun ray on our flag which represents democracy and equality

And its scarf is just the flag.

One of my favorite Spanish songs.

Cheesy enough, but I LOVE it

Luis Fonsi, born in Puerto Rico

later moved to the States when he was 10 with his family

I would say he is more like Ricky Marten in a calm version

The song is talking about not giving up

No matter what you are pursuing

J told me the background story was about a woman who had cancer

and her husband wasn't giving up fighting for it with her..

Very touching but I can't find any information about this song so far

So anyway enjoy it
